Our talented team of instructors have a combined expertise that spans decades and they’re keen to pass on their knowledge to help members get the most out of the LSKC.
We pride ourselves with ensuring members can enjoy classes in a friendly atmosphere with a firm but fair approach to maintaining the discipline needed in any martial art.
Training is available at our dojos, located in Liverpool and the Wirral and private training sessions are also available – just ask for more details.
All instructors are CRB checked and adhere to our Code of Conduct and Protection policy. If you have any queries at all, just get in touch – you’ll find all instructors are very approachable and will try their best to help.
Chief Instructor – Kelvin Alleyne
Sensei Kelvin Alleyne, 7th Dan Chief Instructor with the Toxteth Karate Club (TKC) has been associated with the TKC and LSKC for more than 25 years.
Kelvin is a former Thames Karate International kumite champion, all styles kumite champion and kumite champion with the old EKF and EKC. A winner of many European International kumite championships, Kelvin has been a senior student of Shihan Ronnie Colwell, founder of the Liverpool Shotokan Karate Club (known for their A-team kumite fighting prowess) for many years and was also a team captain.
Kelvin’s easy going nature shines through his “tough with gentleness” approach to the teaching of Karate.
Senior Instructor – Harris Jonas
Harris was a member of Ticky Donavan England karate squad and also a member of the LSKC A team kumite squad.
He has won lots of individual competitions and team events and is also a senior student of Shihan Ronnie Colwell.
Harris is a excellent teacher and his bubbly character always shines through to inspire the students.
Senior Instructor – David Parle
Dave is a classical, old school instructor who trained under the expert tutoring of the great Steve Cattle, who founded the English Shotokan Academy.
Dave is an acomplished instructor and an asset to the LSKC.
He has a reputation for helping students learn katas the right way and his success in passing his knowledge onto his students has resulted in numerous students breaking into the England squads.
